Ranchi, December 10, 2024: Tender Heart School hosted an exciting inter-school science debate competition on Tuesday, drawing participation from 40 schools across the region. The event brought together over 80 students, showcasing their oratory skills and presenting innovative arguments on the thought-provoking theme of “Transhumanism.”
The competition, held in the heart of Ranchi, saw students from various schools engage in intellectual discourse, offering fresh perspectives on the fusion of technology and human evolution. With the rise of artificial intelligence and biotechnology, the debate resonated with contemporary issues surrounding human enhancement and ethics, making it a compelling topic for young minds.
Ranchi Schools Competing in the Debate
The event featured students from renowned schools in Ranchi, including DPS Ranchi, G&H High School and other prominent institutions. The competitors, aged between 14 to 18 years, meticulously crafted arguments to discuss the pros and cons of transhumanism, while addressing its potential impact on society and future generations.
The debate captivated the audience as students used logical reasoning and evidence-based arguments to defend their positions. The participants impressed the judges and audience alike, presenting their points of view on a complex and futuristic subject.
Winners of the Science Debate Competition
DPS Ranchi’s Darshit Pandit emerged as the first-place winner, earning accolades for his persuasive arguments and confident presentation. Ishika Sahu from the same institution claimed second place, while Ishita Chauhan from G&H High School secured third place. The winners were awarded cash prizes, trophies and certificates for their outstanding performances.
The event not only highlighted the participants’ critical thinking skills but also their ability to engage in respectful discourse. The competition provided a platform for students to voice their ideas and enhance their understanding of complex scientific topics.

The esteemed panel of judges included Professor Anoop Kumar Sood from NIAMT, Sonali Das, former Bureau Chief of Times of India and Soumya Suvarna, a PhD scholar from BIT Mesra. Their expertise in various fields added significant value to the competition, providing insightful feedback to the participants.

The Chief Guest of the event, Sudhir Tiwari, Chairman of Tender Heart School, praised the students for their enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity.
