Mahagama, November 15, 2024: In a high-stakes election rally in Mahagama, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh targeted the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) for alleged corruption, calling the party’s name synonymous with “Jamkar Malai Maro” (Take Maximum Advantage). Singh accused the Hemant Soren-led government of not only failing the state but also engaging in politics of appeasement, which he argued has jeopardized Jharkhand’s development.
BJP Accuses JMM of Corruption and Mismanagement
Rajnath Singh, addressing a large crowd in Mahagama, did not hold back in his criticism of the JMM. He remarked that the party has been entrenched in corruption, which he believes has undermined the state’s progress. “JMM’s meaning is simple – Jamkar Malai Maro,” Singh said, implying that the party’s focus has been on self-interest and corruption rather than on the welfare of Jharkhand’s people.
Corruption Allegations Against Hemant Soren’s Government
The Defence Minister further escalated his allegations by pointing out that the state of Jharkhand has seen a series of corrupt actions under the leadership of Hemant Soren. He referred to the fact that out of the state’s 13 Chief Ministers, three had been imprisoned due to corruption charges. Singh contrasted this with the BJP’s track record, claiming that none of its leaders had faced similar accusations. “While BJP leaders have always maintained integrity, the state government has been mired in corruption,” Singh asserted.
Accusations Against Congress, RJD and Opposition Alliances
Rajnath Singh also turned his focus on the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) alliance, accusing these parties of spreading corruption wherever they governed. “Wherever Congress has been in power, chaos and corruption have followed. These parties have shown no regard for the people they are supposed to serve,” he said, criticizing their governance strategies.
Promises to the Youth and Economic Development
Rajnath Singh also took a dig at Hemant Soren’s promises to Jharkhand’s youth, especially his vow to provide unemployment benefits. He claimed that the government had failed to deliver on these promises. “The youth of Jharkhand have been deceived by Hemant Soren, who made lofty promises during elections but failed to deliver any substantial benefits,” he remarked. Additionally, Singh accused the state government of removing the then Chief Minister, Champai Soren, to clear the path for furthering its corrupt agendas.
Prime Minister Modi’s Initiatives and BJP’s Vision for Jharkhand
The Union Minister highlighted the achievements of the Modi government, such as the “Nal-Jal Yojana,” which aims to provide clean drinking water to every household. Singh claimed that while the scheme was a significant initiative by the central government, the Hemant Soren-led government had misused it by extorting money from the people in the name of its implementation. “Prime Minister Modi’s vision of development is clear, but unfortunately, the state government has turned it into a tool for corruption,” Singh added.
BJP’s Commitment to a Corruption-Free Government in Jharkhand
Rajnath Singh concluded his address by emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to a corruption-free Jharkhand. He praised the BJP-led central government for its transparency and for prioritizing the welfare of the people. “The BJP’s vision for Jharkhand is clear – a state free from corruption, where the welfare of the people comes first,” Singh stated.
Rajnath Singh’s remarks underscore the BJP’s stance as it seeks to make inroads in Jharkhand ahead of the state elections, with the party aiming to form a government that is accountable and focused on development. He confidently stated that the BJP-NDA alliance will soon form the next government in Jharkhand, promising a prosperous future for the state.
