Jharkhand Crime: Notorious Criminal Chhota Sajid Arrested with Loaded Pistol in Saraikela-Kharsawan

Saraikela, October 4, 2025: Police in Saraikela-Kharsawan district carried out a major operation on Friday, arresting notorious criminal Sajid Ansari alias Chhota Sajid with a loaded pistol. The arrest was made in the Kapali OP police station area following a tip-off about his movements.

Chhota Sajid Arrested During Police Raid in Kapali Area

According to police sources, information was received that Sajid, active in Azadnagar and Kapali, was planning a major crime at Sattatalla Ground in Dangodih. Acting swiftly, a special police team was formed under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Arvind Binah of Chandil subdivision.

The team raided the location and successfully nabbed Sajid with a loaded pistol in his possession.

Additional Weapons and Cartridges Recovered

During interrogation and on his indication, police recovered another loaded country-made pistol and two live cartridges. A mobile phone was also seized from his possession. Authorities confirmed that the recovery further strengthens the case against the accused.

Multiple Criminal Cases Registered Against Chhota Sajid

Superintendent of Police (SP) Mukesh Kumar Lunayat informed that Sajid has a long criminal history. Several cases of attempt to murder, loot, and illegal possession of firearms have been registered against him.

Police records reveal that Sajid has been named in five FIRs filed between 2014 and 2024 at Chandil and Azadnagar police stations. His criminal activities had made him a key threat in the region.

SP Lunayat described the arrest as a significant achievement for crime control in the Kapali area, noting that it will help in curbing criminal activities and ensuring safety for residents.
