Ranchi, September 4, 2026: The Jharkhand CID has stepped up its investigation into alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), including the JSSC CGL examination.
A special investigation team visited the JSSC headquarters in Namkum on Friday, where it questioned Commission Secretary Sudhir Gupta for several hours and examined confidential records, according to information available in the case.
During the visit, investigators reportedly recovered several OMR sheets and documents from the Commission office. The material is expected to be examined as part of the ongoing investigation into alleged examination-related irregularities.
CID team reportedly searches secretary’s residence
The latest action followed an early-morning search at Gupta’s private residence on Harihar Singh Road in Morabadi, according to the source.
The team reportedly carried out an extensive search at the residence for several hours and collected files and digital material considered relevant to the investigation.
The investigators then proceeded to the JSSC headquarters, where they questioned the secretary in the administrative building and examined records maintained by the Commission.
However, the reported search of the residence, questioning and recovery of material have not been officially confirmed so far.
Investigation focuses on examination records
The CID probe is examining allegations of irregularities, manipulation and paper leaks associated with JSSC recruitment examinations. The recovery of OMR sheets and other documents from the Commission office could provide investigators with additional material for examining how examination records were handled.
The latest developments indicate that the investigation is now focusing not only on individuals allegedly linked to the examination irregularities but also on records and processes within the Commission.
Further details are expected to emerge as the CID examines the documents and digital material collected during the investigation.
