Palamu News: 225 Liters of Illegal Country Liquor Seized in Palamu, Police Investigation Underway

Palamu, November 21, 2024: In a significant breakthrough, Palamu police intercepted a white Swift Dzire car loaded with 225 liters of illegal country liquor on Wednesday. Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officials have launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter.

Swift Dzire Car Found Abandoned with Illegal Liquor

The police received confidential information about a white Swift Dzire car transporting illegal country liquor from Deori Kala village through the Dangwar route to Bihar. Acting swiftly, senior police officials were notified, and a team was dispatched from Dangwar OP to verify the information.

The vehicle was discovered near Nadiyan village, parked suspiciously along the roadside. Upon inspection, the car’s doors and trunk were found open. In the presence of two independent witnesses, the vehicle was thoroughly searched.

Details of the Seized Liquor

The search revealed 30 cartons of country liquor, each containing 25 transparent plastic bottles of 300 ml capacity. The bottles were branded as “Tanaka Desi Sharab.” A total of 750 bottles, amounting to approximately 225 liters of illegal liquor, were confiscated.

The vehicle and the seized liquor have been secured at the Dangwar OP police station.

FIR Filed Against Vehicle Owner and Others

In connection with this case, an FIR has been lodged at the Hussainabad police station under case number 237/2024. The charges include sections 274, 275, 292 of the IPC and section 47(a) of the Excise Act. The registered owner of the Swift Dzire car (Registration Number: JH01BE 3770), its driver and other unidentified individuals have been named in the FIR.

Police Intensify Investigation

Authorities are now focusing on tracing the vehicle’s owner and identifying the individuals involved in this illegal operation. Efforts are underway to determine the source of the liquor and the intended recipients in Bihar. This seizure highlights the ongoing battle against the illegal liquor trade in Jharkhand.
