Ranchi: Thief Nabbed During Attempted Bike Theft in Kotwali Area

Ranchi, December 21, 2024: A notorious bike thief was caught red-handed by locals while attempting to steal a motorcycle in Ranchi’s Kotwali area. The incident unfolded late in the evening, drawing a crowd as residents apprehended the accused, identified as Firoz and subjected him to a severe beating before the police intervened.

Police Rescue Accused from Mob, Arrest Follows

The Kotwali police, alerted by a bystander, rushed to the scene and rescued Firoz from the enraged crowd. The suspect, who had recently been released from jail, was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment before being placed under arrest.

DSP Prakash Soy, speaking about the case, stated, “Firoz is a repeat offender with a history of bike theft. We have recovered a stolen motorcycle from his possession. Further investigations are underway, and strict action will be taken.”

According to police records, Firoz has been involved in multiple bike theft cases in Ranchi and surrounding areas. His recent release from jail appears to have done little to deter his criminal activities.
