Hazaribagh, August 26, 2026: Heavy rain did not deter thousands of devotees from taking part in the Juloos-e-Mohammadi held in Hazaribagh on Wednesday to mark the 1,501st Jashn-e-Eid Milad-un-Nabi. Organised under the banner of the Jama Masjid Central Committee, the procession brought together around 100 smaller processions from different neighbourhoods of the city and nearby villages.
The procession began from Jama Masjid Road and was conducted under the supervision of Mufti Abdul Jalil Saadi, chief Qazi of Edara-e-Sharia and Khatib-Imam of Jama Masjid. Participants recited Naat-e-Rasool and Durood-o-Salam and carried messages centred on the Seerat and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad.
Heavy rain began around 3 pm, but participants continued with the procession. Religious slogans, including “Sarkar Ki Aamad Marhaba”, continued to be heard along the route.
Organisers emphasise simplicity and discipline
Ahead of the procession, the Jama Masjid Central Committee had appealed to participating groups to maintain simplicity, discipline and respect during the event. Committee representatives had also coordinated with local committees in different villages and neighbourhoods.
Several groups kept their programmes focused on Naat and messages from the Seerat. At some locations, however, people expressed concern over the use of loud DJ music. They said the occasion should primarily convey the values associated with the Prophet’s life, including simplicity, good conduct, discipline and humanity.
Security arrangements in place
The administration deployed police personnel at different points along the procession route and maintained security arrangements throughout the event.
Officials monitored the movement of the procession and ensured that the programme concluded peacefully.
Welcome camps set up along route
Social organisations, public representatives and local residents set up welcome points at several locations along the route. Participants were offered fruits, sharbat, drinking water and biscuits.
Among those present during the programme were former minister and Congress district president Jaiprakash Bhai Patel, councillor Jameel Ahmad alias Bablu Qureshi, Irfan Ahmad Kaju, Shakeel Bihari, Vinod Kushwaha, Munna Singh, Taslim Ansari, Mohammad Izhar, Mohammad Akhtar, Shoaib Khan, Babar Ansari, Parvez Ahmad, Haider Ali, Salauddin alias Bablu, Mohammad Sabir, Misbah-ul-Islam and JP Jain, along with other social workers, public representatives and local dignitaries.
Despite the heavy rain, the procession continued with participants emphasising the values of Seerat, Sunnah, simplicity, discipline, brotherhood and humanity.
