Chaibasa, August 26, 2026: Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at Chakradharpur police station in a warm community gathering, where members of the Ekal Gramothan Foundation tied rakhis to police personnel on duty and thanked them for their service.
Led by foundation president Neetu Sahu, the women visited the police station and tied the sacred thread to Station House Officer Awadhesh Kumar as well as other officers and personnel present there.
The participants said police personnel remain on duty around the clock to protect the public, often putting their own concerns aside. They described the Raksha Bandhan gesture as a way of expressing respect and appreciation for their service.
The women also said such interactions can strengthen trust and a sense of connection between the police and the wider community.

The police officials also assured the participants of their continued commitment to maintaining peace, security and harmony in the area. They said community programmes of this nature can help bring citizens and the police closer.

The programme was attended by several members of the Ekal Gramothan Foundation, including Neetu Sahu, Dippi Kaur, Kanchan Chhabra, Mamta Agarwal, Sabita Chung, Sushma Saw, Monika Saw, Kiran Chauhan, Poonam Devi, Manju Mishra, Meena Bhageria and Asha Kumari, along with other women and girls.
The programme concluded in a cordial atmosphere, with participants exchanging Raksha Bandhan greetings.
