Ranchi, September 08, 2026: The Birsa Munda Airport Displaced Justice Front has sought a time-bound resolution of long-standing issues faced by families affected by the airport’s development.
Members of the organisation submitted a memorandum to the director of Birsa Munda Airport on Tuesday, raising demands related to basic amenities, local infrastructure and employment opportunities for displaced and affected families.
Among the key demands is a provision for 75% employment for affected and local families in third- and fourth-grade positions at the airport. The organisation also sought action on road and drain construction, water pipeline facilities and other basic infrastructure requirements in areas affected by the airport project.
Representatives of the Front said families affected by the airport’s development had made an important contribution to the expansion of the facility and therefore their concerns should receive due consideration.
They called for a permanent and dignified resolution of issues concerning the affected families rather than temporary measures.
The delegation urged airport management to examine the demands raised in the memorandum seriously and initiate positive action at the earliest.
The delegation included Front president Rajesh Kachhap, general secretary Santosh Kumar Gop, vice-president Anand Kumar, treasurer Kamal Kishore, Manohar Sahu, Krishna Gop, Aarti Devi, Shanti Devi, Reshma Kachhap, Reshmi Devi, Mukesh Yadav, Ashok Gop, Bajrang Thakur and other executive members.
