Palamu, September 8, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Palamu unit will stage a mass gherao of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on September 9, demanding a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities and paper leaks in JPSC, JSSC and CGL examinations.
The BJP will also hold a public protest against cases allegedly filed against students who have been raising their voices over the examination issues.
Palamu BJP district president Amit Tiwari said the mass gherao and protest would begin at 11 am on Wednesday. BJP leader, former state president and former Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash, who has been appointed as the state-level in-charge for the programme, is scheduled to attend the protest.
MPs, MLAs and students expected to participate
According to Amit Tiwari, the protest will bring together the district’s MPs, MLAs, former MPs and former MLAs, along with state and district office-bearers, working committee members, mandal-level functionaries and leaders of various party fronts.
Senior BJP leaders, active members, young people and a large number of students are also expected to participate.
The BJP has demanded an impartial investigation into the alleged irregularities and paper leaks in JPSC, JSSC and CGL examinations. The party is also seeking withdrawal of cases that it describes as being filed against innocent students for raising their concerns.
These demands are being made by the BJP as part of its political campaign over the examination controversy.
March to begin from Minor Irrigation Office ground
Participants will assemble at 11 am at the Minor Irrigation Office ground near Kali Mandir Road on the Redma Bypass.
From there, BJP workers, leaders, young people and students will march towards the Collectorate. The proposed route will pass through Redma Chowk, the overbridge and Kachahari Chowk, before reaching the main gate of the Collectorate.
The BJP has said the march will culminate in the mass gherao of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The programme is focused on the party’s demands for a CBI probe into the alleged examination irregularities and paper leaks, along with action concerning cases registered against protesting students.
