Ranchi, August 31, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will organise a month-long Seva Sankalp campaign across Jharkhand from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public life.
A state-level workshop to plan the campaign was held at Haveli Banquet Hall in Sukurhutu, Kanke, Ranchi. The BJP leadership used the meeting to outline the organisational activities and public outreach planned during the campaign.
The party said the programme will focus on taking information about Modi’s leadership and the work of the Union government to people at the grassroots level, with particular emphasis on participation by youth, students, women and beneficiaries of central government schemes.
District and mandal workshops planned
BJP state organisational general secretary Karmaveer Singh presented the campaign plan through a presentation and said the celebrations would be organised over a month this year instead of the usual fortnight-long programme around the Prime Minister’s birthday.
District-level workshops will be held on September 5, 6 and 7, followed by mandal-level workshops on September 8, 9 and 10.
On September 17, Modi’s birthday, the party plans to light an “Aashirwad ka Diya” in homes as part of the campaign.
The organisation has also announced separate teams of convenors and co-convenors at the state level for 14 different programmes planned under the campaign.
Aditya Sahu highlights Modi’s leadership
BJP Jharkhand president and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu said Modi’s public life has been marked by service to people at the grassroots and claimed that welfare initiatives under his leadership had benefited households across the country.
Sahu said honest leadership could change the direction and prospects of a state and country, citing Modi’s tenure as an example.
Babulal Marandi highlights development projects
Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi described Modi’s 12-year tenure as significant and listed infrastructure and healthcare projects in Jharkhand that he attributed to the Union government’s approach.
He cited the bridge over the Ganga in Sahibganj, the AIIMS project, new medical colleges, redevelopment of railway stations and expansion of the highway network.
Marandi also spoke about Jharkhand’s political situation and the MMDR Act. He claimed that the legislation was beneficial to Jharkhand and accused some political parties of misleading people about it.
He further alleged that illegal mining and consumption were causing substantial revenue losses in the state and criticised the state government over the issue.
BJP calls for wider participation
National minister Pradeep Verma asked party workers to ensure greater participation of young people, students, women and beneficiaries of central schemes in the campaign.
He said workers should focus on providing people with accurate information about government schemes and helping eligible beneficiaries access those schemes at the block level.
The workshop brought together BJP leaders and organisational functionaries to prepare the campaign for implementation across the state.
