Ranchi, September 28, 2025: The Jharkhand government’s push to accelerate recruitment in state services has hit a roadblock, with 11 departments yet to submit details of vacant posts to the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC). Despite directives issued in June 2025, these departments have not provided the required information, slowing preparations for upcoming recruitment examinations.
Jharkhand Government Directs Departments to Submit Vacancy Details
The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms has now directed the defaulting departments to submit their vacancy lists within a week. In an official communication, the secretary made it clear that departments must provide year-wise data on vacant posts and forward requisitions for at least one-third of positions for recruitment. The requisitions must be submitted in the prescribed format along with the approved roster.
Administrative Work Affected by Pending Government Vacancies
Jharkhand has been grappling with a large number of unfilled government posts for years. The shortage of staff has affected the efficiency of administrative work, while also worsening the state’s unemployment situation. The government has repeatedly emphasized the need to speed up the recruitment process, but delays from multiple departments have hindered progress.
Impact on JPSC Civil Services Examination
Officials have warned that continued delays in sending vacancy details could directly impact the JPSC Combined Civil Services Examination 2025. Experts also suggest that failure to provide updated vacancy lists on time may disrupt the recruitment cycle, depriving aspirants of opportunities and leaving crucial government positions vacant.

However, several gazetted posts in various departments remain unfilled, further emphasizing the need for timely requisitions to JPSC.
