The investigation stems from a case registered in March 2024 in Jharkhand’s Tonto Police Station. These items were discovered in forested areas between Husipi and Rajabasa villages, based on information provided by a Maoist operative identified as Rajesh Devgam.

The NIA took over the case in July 2024, following evidence of a broader network of Maoist operatives and their supporters.
