Khunti, September 11, 2026: The BJP staged a protest in Khunti on Friday demanding a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities and question paper leaks in JPSC and JSSC recruitment examinations and withdrawal of cases registered against protesting students.
Led by BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Prasad Sahu, party workers took out a rally from Kachahari Maidan and marched to the Collectorate. After reaching the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the workers staged a sit-in against the state government.
Following the protest, a BJP delegation submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner demanding withdrawal of the FIRs against students and a CBI probe into the examination-related allegations.
BJP alleges threat to future of aspiring candidates
During the demonstration, BJP workers raised slogans including “Seat Chor Gaddi Chhod”, “Naukri Chor Gaddi Chhod” and “Seat Bechna Band Karo”, along with slogans targeting Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
BJP leaders said alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations directly affect the future of young people preparing for government jobs and therefore require an impartial investigation.
Aditya Sahu accused the Hemant Soren government of failing to ensure transparency in recruitment processes and alleged that the interests of Jharkhand’s youth were being compromised.
He also alleged that jobs meant for candidates from Jharkhand were being given to applicants from other states. Sahu further criticised the government over its election promises concerning employment and unemployment allowances.
BJP raises issue of language examinations
Sahu also raised concerns about the recruitment examinations involving regional languages, alleging that complaints had emerged regarding candidates from outside Jharkhand qualifying in the Nagpuri language examination despite allegedly lacking basic knowledge of the language.
He said the BJP would continue raising issues concerning the rights and future of Jharkhand’s youth.

BJP state vice-president Nilkanth Singh Munda also accused the government of failing to adequately address the alleged question paper leak issue.
He claimed that 122 questions were allegedly leaked before the examination and questioned how examination questions could have reportedly reached Nepal and Uttar Pradesh before the test while students were preparing in Jharkhand.
Munda described the allegations as serious and called for the investigation to be handed over to the CBI.
He said the BJP would continue its campaign until a CBI investigation is ordered and would raise the issue from the streets to the Assembly in support of students.

BJP seeks withdrawal of cases against students
Former MLA Koche Munda said filing FIRs against students protesting for their rights and demanding transparency in examinations was unjustified.
He demanded immediate withdrawal of cases registered against the students and called for strict action against anyone found responsible for irregularities in competitive examinations.
After the demonstration, a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner under the leadership of BJP district president Anand Kumar.

The protest was attended by BJP chief whip and Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal, district in-charge Sunita Singh, former state and district president Kashinath Mahato, Santosh Jaiswal, Vijay Ram Ganjhu, Prasunn Manjhi, Priyank Bhagat, Nagar Panchayat chairperson Rani Tuti, ward councillor Juhi Priyanka Toppo, Rupesh Jaiswal, Nikhil Kundulna, OP Kashyap and a large number of party leaders and workers.
