Chaibasa, August 30, 2026: The Postgraduate (PG) Department of Geography at Kolhan University, Chaibasa, has recorded an impressive result in the June UGC NET 2026 examination, with five of its students achieving success at different academic levels.
The result includes one student qualifying for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), two clearing UGC NET and two securing eligibility for PhD admission. The achievement has brought recognition to the department and added to the university’s academic and research credentials.
One Student Qualifies for JRF, Two Clear UGC NET
According to the department, Tiya Ram Murmu secured success in UGC-JRF, making it the standout achievement among the five students.
Sunita Sardar and Salkhan Tudu qualified the UGC NET examination, while Rohit Kudada and Sanjeet Gope secured success in PhD admission eligibility.
The department said the results are particularly significant because students have achieved success across three important academic pathways in the same examination cycle.
Vice-Chancellor Congratulates Successful Students
Kolhan University Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta congratulated all five successful students and wished them well for their academic and research careers.
She described the achievement as a matter of pride for the entire university and also congratulated the faculty members and Head of the PG Geography Department for the result.

PG Geography Department Head Dr. Sunita Kumari and Assistant Professor Kanchan Kachhap also congratulated the successful candidates.
