Ranchi, September 14, 2026: Religious programmes were organised at Shri Shwetambar Jain Temple in Doranda on Monday as part of the seventh day of Paryushan Parv, with devotees participating in prayers and sermons on the lives and teachings of Jain Tirthankaras.
The day began with Snatra Puja at 7:30 am, which was attended by a large number of devotees.
Sermons focus on four Tirthankaras
Sadharmi speakers Dhairya Piyush Bhai and Tirth Dharmveer Shah, who came from Mumbai, delivered sermons on the lives, periods and religious teachings associated with Lord Rishabhdev, Lord Parshvanath, Lord Neminath and Lord Mahavir.
Their teachings and messages were also recited during the programme.
The speakers also highlighted the Jain tradition that Marudevi Mata was the first to attain moksha during this period.
Devotional Girnar yatra organised
In the evening, devotees participated in a devotional Girnar yatra organised within the temple premises.
The programme offered devotees a spiritual experience associated with the pilgrimage to Girnar, where Lord Neminath is worshipped.
The speakers also discussed the antiquity of the Girnar images and highlighted the contributions of Vastupal, Tejpal and King Samprati to the development and preservation of the Girnar pilgrimage site.
Aarti and devotional bhajans held
The evening programme concluded with aarti and devotional bhajans, with a large number of devotees taking part.
An offering related to the Varsa Sutra was also made during the programme. The recitation of the Varsa Sutra is scheduled for Tuesday, the final day of Paryushan.
On the concluding day, members of the Jain community will observe religious rituals and fasting as part of their spiritual practices. A collective Samayik Pratikraman will be organised from 3:30 pm.

The programme was attended by Sampatlal Rampuria, Subhash Bothra, Suresh Bothra, Sushila Sethia, Suman Bothra, Premlata Nahta, Usha Sethia, Sanjay Nahta, Pramod Bothra, Usha Kothari and other devotees.
