Chaibasa, August 29, 2026: A 17-year-old girl from a village under Gulkera panchayat in West Singhbhum’s Chakradharpur police station area has alleged sexual abuse and the circulation of her obscene photographs on social media.

The girl, accompanied by her family members and villagers, approached Chakradharpur police station on Saturday and submitted a complaint against the accused.

According to the family, the accused is a 40-year-old married man. They alleged that he befriended the minor, sexually exploited her and subsequently circulated her objectionable photographs on social media platforms.

The family said the circulation of the photographs has caused significant mental and social distress to the girl and her relatives.

Police investigating the complaint

The family has sought a fair investigation and strict legal action against the accused.

Chakradharpur police station in-charge Awadhesh Kumar confirmed that a complaint had been received. He said the matter was under investigation and that appropriate action would be taken if the accused was found guilty after the investigation.

The allegations have not yet been established, and the police investigation is ongoing.
