Chatra, August 29,2026: An athletics competition was organised at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chatra on Saturday as part of a three-day sports campaign marking National Sports Day.
The second day of the campaign featured a 1,600-metre race for boys and girls, with participating athletes competing with enthusiasm.
Chhotu Yadav tops boys’ 1600m race
In the boys’ 1,600-metre event, Chhotu Yadav secured first place. Jitendra Yadav finished second, while Subhash Bhokta took third position.
The top performers were presented with trophies in recognition of their performances.
Top 10 players receive medals
Along with the winners, the top 10 athletes in both the boys’ and girls’ categories were awarded medals.
Guests present at the programme were also honoured with shawls.
The sports campaign aims to encourage young people to participate in sports and promote a healthy lifestyle.

The final programme of the campaign will be held on August 30.
