Ranchi, August 29, 2026: The Jharkhand government’s agricultural loan waiver scheme has provided debt relief to 4,82,380 eligible farmers across the state, with more than ₹1,785 crore transferred to their accounts, according to the information provided by the state government.

A total of 5,01,620 online and offline applications were received under the Jharkhand Farm Loan Waiver Scheme. Following verification at the ground and technical levels, 4,82,380 applicants were found eligible and received the loan waiver benefit through direct payment.

The district-wise figures show that the scheme has covered farmers across all parts of Jharkhand, with the amount of relief varying considerably between districts.

District-wise loan waiver amount

Among the districts, Deoghar recorded the highest amount of loan waiver at ₹135 crore. Palamu followed with ₹133.40 crore, while Garhwa received ₹114.01 crore in loan waiver benefits.

In Ranchi, eligible farmers received ₹103.72 crore, while Hazaribagh recorded ₹102.70 crore. In East Singhbhum, ₹93.55 crore was provided, and Dumka received ₹91.45 crore.
