Ranchi, August 29, 2026: The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee has intensified preparations for its proposed state-level protest on September 7 against policies of the central government.
To ensure greater participation of party workers, meetings of different organisational wings and departments will be held at the Congress Bhavan in Ranchi from September 1 to 3.
The meetings will focus on assigning organisational responsibilities, discussing the protest strategy and improving coordination among different units. The party aims to mobilise a large number of workers for the September 7 programme.
Seven organisational meetings over three days
According to Rakesh Sinha, media in-charge of the state Congress, the meetings will begin on September 1.
The schedule is as follows:
- September 1: NSUI meeting from 11 am to 12:30 pm; Women Congress meeting from 12:30 pm to 2 pm; Youth Congress meeting from 3 pm to 5 pm.
- September 2: Adivasi Congress meeting from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm; SC Department meeting from 12:30 pm to 2 pm.
- September 3: Seva Dal meeting from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm; Ranchi Mahanagar District Congress Committee meeting from 12:30 pm to 2 pm.
Preparations to be reviewed
Office-bearers and workers from the respective organisations will review preparations for the September 7 protest during the meetings.
The discussions will also cover mobilisation of workers and supporters, allocation of responsibilities and coordination between organisational units to ensure the programme is conducted effectively.
The Congress has appealed to all concerned office-bearers and workers to attend the meetings at the scheduled times.
Sinha said the September 7 programme would present what the party described as a united and effective voice against the policies of the central government. This characterisation is the Congress party’s stated position.
