Ranchi, August 30, 2026: Chief Minister Hemant Soren attended the 219th Urs of Hazrat Qutubuddin Risaldar Baba at the shrine in Doranda, Ranchi, on Sunday, offering prayers for the well-being and prosperity of Jharkhand.
Soren participated in the traditional chadar poshi at the shrine and prayed for peace, progress, prosperity and communal harmony across the state. His visit came as devotees gathered for the annual Urs, an occasion marked by religious observances and messages of brotherhood.
CM Highlights Message of Brotherhood and Humanity
Speaking on the occasion, Soren said the teachings associated with Hazrat Qutubuddin Risaldar Baba emphasise love, humanity, brotherhood and mutual harmony.
He said the Urs provides an opportunity to reinforce the values of social unity and peaceful coexistence. The Chief Minister also prayed for happiness and prosperity in the lives of Jharkhand’s people and for stronger bonds of harmony across communities.
Soren extended his greetings to devotees attending the Urs and to the people of Jharkhand on the occasion.
JMM Leaders Join Chadar Poshi
Several Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leaders accompanied the Chief Minister during his visit. They also offered chadar at the shrine and joined the prayers.
The visit brought political representatives and devotees together at the religious gathering, with the message of peace and communal harmony remaining central to the occasion.
Visit Continues a Tradition of Jharkhand CMs
Soren’s visit is part of a longstanding tradition of Jharkhand chief ministers visiting the Risaldar Baba shrine and offering chadar.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and BJP leader Raghubar Das also visited the shrine and offered chadar during his tenure as chief minister.
