Ramgarh, September 1, 2026: Bhurkunda OP police have arrested two men and seized 16.83 grams of suspected brown sugar, along with a four-wheeler, two mobile phones and ₹14,300 in cash, during an operation based on a tip-off, police said.
The action was carried out following confidential information received by Ramgarh Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat.
Two arrested in police operation
Police said the Bhurkunda OP team acted on the information and detained the two accused. During the operation, officers recovered and seized the suspected narcotic substance along with the vehicle, mobile phones and cash.
The arrested men have been identified as Akhil Ansari, 30, son of Mohammad Hadis Ansari, a resident of No. 2 Gate, NTS, Barkakana, and Deepak Bedia, 30, son of late Sidhu Ram Bedia, a resident of Ghutwa under Patratu police station in Ramgarh district.
Case registered, accused sent to judicial custody
Police have registered Patratu (Bhurkunda) Police Station Case No. 299/26 in connection with the seizure.
After completion of the necessary legal formalities, both accused were sent to judicial custody, according to police.
The seized material and other items have been taken into police custody as the investigation proceeds.
