Jamshedpur: Kolhan University (KU) has directed its colleges and officials not to send invitations, requests or other correspondence directly to the Governor Secretariat, making communication through the prescribed administrative channel mandatory.
The directive was issued on the instructions of the Vice-Chancellor, with Registrar Dr Amar Kumar issuing an official notification on the matter.
Under the new instruction, principals and acting principals of colleges under the university, deans, heads of postgraduate departments, university officials and other concerned employees have been asked to ensure that neither they nor their subordinate staff directly send invitations or request letters to the Governor Secretariat.
All requests must go through proper channel
The university has clarified that any future invitation, demand or request intended for the Governor Secretariat must be forwarded through the proper channel.
Such correspondence will have to be routed through either the Vice-Chancellor or the Registrar. Direct correspondence with the Raj Bhavan or Governor Secretariat by individual university officials or staff has not been permitted under the directive.
The measure is intended to ensure that official communication from the university and its constituent institutions follows a defined administrative route.
Directive follows Governor Secretariat communication
The university administration said the decision has been taken in light of instructions contained in a letter issued by the Governor Secretariat on August 11, 2026.
Copies of the university notification have been circulated to principals of all constituent and affiliated colleges, heads of postgraduate departments, university officials and the Vice-Chancellor’s personal assistant for necessary compliance.
The directive now establishes a uniform communication procedure for correspondence between institutions under Kolhan University and the Governor Secretariat.
