Police Crackdown on Drug Trafficking in Saraikela

Saraikela, November 27, 2024: In a significant breakthrough against narcotics trade, Saraikela police apprehended two individuals involved in drug trafficking. Acting on a tip-off, the police seized 29.25 grams of brown sugar, estimated to be worth ₹6 lakh, during a raid in Adityapur’s Muslim Basti H Road. The accused, identified as Mohammad Sarik and Sartaj Ansari, have been taken into judicial custody.

The raid was conducted under the leadership of Saraikela SDPO Sameer Sawaiya. Acting on intelligence, a team of officers surrounded the targeted location and apprehended the suspects. Along with the contraband, police recovered three mobile phones, a OnePlus smartphone, a Vivo handset and a Nokia keypad phone, believed to have been used for illicit communication.
