Ranchi, December 10, 2024: Ranchi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manjunath Bhajantri conducted a surprise inspection of the Kanke Block cum Circle Office at approximately 4:30 PM. The inspection aimed to assess staff attendance, operational efficiency and service delivery to the public.
Attendance Under Scrutiny
During the visit, DC Manjunath Bhajantri reviewed the biometric attendance records to verify the presence of officers and employees. Following the inspection, he instructed the Block Development Officer (BDO) to initiate disciplinary action against unauthorized absentees.
Show-Cause Notice and Salary Suspension
Circle Officer (CO) Jai Kumar was found absent during the inspection. As a result, DC Manjunath Bhajantri directed the issuance of a show-cause notice and the suspension of his salary. Additionally, the DC instructed verification of work conducted by Amin Ramlal Mahto on December 9 and 10, 2024, at the Hehal Circle.
Emphasis on Punctuality and Public Service
DC Manjunath Bhajantri emphasized that all officials and employees should ensure timely attendance and remain dedicated throughout working hours. He stressed the importance of resolving public grievances efficiently to avoid unnecessary delays or repeat visits by citizens.
Inspection of Records and Pending Cases
The Deputy Commissioner inspected logbooks, incoming and outgoing registers, cashbooks, files, public complaints and pension records. He reviewed the progress of “Abua Awas” housing targets for the current and previous fiscal years and directed swift completion of pending work.
Furthermore, he addressed pending mutation cases in both urban and rural areas under the Kanke Circle, instructing prompt resolution to minimize delays.
Winter Preparations and Public Convenience
Considering the drop in temperature, DC Manjunath Bhajantri ordered the establishment of bonfires at key locations in Kanke Block to provide relief to the public. He also instructed officials to ensure that no individual remains outdoors in cold conditions during the night.
Cleanliness and Infrastructure Upkeep
DC Manjunath Bhajantri toured the Block cum Circle Office premises and evaluated facilities such as water supply, electricity, toilets and solar systems. He instructed the BDO to ensure proper maintenance of these facilities and maintain cleanliness across the campus.
Inspection of Kanke Community Health Centre
The Deputy Commissioner also visited the Kanke Community Health Centre (CHC). He examined staff attendance across shifts and directed medical personnel to ensure timely presence.
The inspection extended to ambulances, where he checked oxygen availability and cleanliness. DC Manjunath Bhajantri also assessed ward conditions and instructed improvements in water supply, cleanliness and power backup systems, including generator and solar systems.
