Ranchi, October 8, 2025: Even after the official withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from Jharkhand, several parts of the state continue to witness moderate to heavy rainfall due to local weather conditions. Dhanbad district recorded the highest rainfall in the state during the past 24 hours, measuring 108 millimeters at Govindpur, according to the Meteorological Department.

Dhanbad Tops Jharkhand Rainfall Chart with 108 mm Downpour

Dhanbad’s Govindpur region reported the heaviest rainfall at 108 mm, followed by Chandan Kiyari with 42.6 mm, Chandrapura and Fatehpur with 41 mm, and Shikaripada with 40.2 mm. Other regions, including Jamtara (34.8 mm), Tundi in Dhanbad (26.2 mm), Namkum (24.3 mm), Dumka (20 mm), and Dumri (19.5 mm), also experienced moderate rainfall.

Rain in Jharkhand Continues After Monsoon Withdrawal

Despite the retreat of the southwest monsoon from Jharkhand, local climatic factors continue to trigger sporadic rainfall in different districts. While several parts of the state saw significant showers, Ranchi and its adjoining areas reported clear skies and mild sunshine on Wednesday morning.

Temperature Variations Across Jharkhand

According to the Meteorological Department, Pakur recorded the highest temperature in Jharkhand at 33.9°C, while Latehar recorded the lowest at 18.7°C during the last 24 hours. Weather forecasts suggest that the maximum temperature across most regions of the state is likely to drop by 1 to 1.5°C over the next few days.

Weather Conditions in Major Jharkhand Cities

The temperature in major cities across Jharkhand showed mild variations. Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 29.8°C, Jamshedpur 32.1°C, Daltonganj 32.6°C, Bokaro 31.1°C, and Chaibasa 31.4°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that the weather will likely remain partly cloudy with occasional rainfall in isolated parts of the state.
