Ranchi, September 18, 2025: The final performance of William Shakespeare’s celebrated play Macbeth was held at St. Xavier’s School auditorium in Ranchi on Friday evening at 5 PM. The grand staging concluded amidst resounding applause and appreciation from the audience.

Chief Guest Dr. Janet Andrews Graces the Occasion

The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Janet Andrews, Head of the English Department at Nirmala College, who attended as the chief guest. Her presence added academic and cultural significance to the evening, further highlighting the literary value of Shakespeare’s Macbeth on stage.

Direction by Renowned Theatre Artist Saumitra Chaudhuri

The production was directed by Saumitra Chaudhuri, an alumnus of the 1974 batch of St. Xavier’s Doranda and an active member of Doranda Old Xaverians. Chaudhuri, a well-known theatre artist and documentary filmmaker based in Kolkata, brought professional finesse to the stage. His artistic vision, combined with student talent, elevated the performance to a memorable level.
