Jamshedpur, August 31, 2026: A woman was allegedly held hostage and robbed inside a flat at Sri Krishna Udyan on Jawaharnagar Road No. 15 in Mango on Monday, with three suspected robbers reportedly escaping after taking jewellery from her.
The incident involved three people, including a woman, who allegedly entered the flat and confronted Leelawati Amma, who was present inside at the time.
Woman allegedly confined for around 30 minutes
According to the information available, the suspects allegedly kept Leelawati Amma inside the flat for around 30 minutes.
During this period, she was allegedly assaulted and threatened before the suspects took a gold chain and earrings from her.
After the alleged robbery, the three suspects reportedly locked her inside the flat’s balcony and fled.
The woman then raised an alarm and called for help. Hearing her cries, neighbours reached the spot and helped her out of the balcony.
