Ranchi, November 29, 2024: Ranchi, a city recognized for its growing prominence in the sports domain, is set to host four prestigious national-level sports competitions in January 2025. The events, organized under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), will take place at the Mega Sports Complex in Khelgaon, Ranchi. This opportunity further cements Jharkhand’s reputation as a hub for major sporting events.

Preparations Underway by the State Education Department

Originally slated for November and December 2024, some of these SGFI competitions were postponed due to the Jharkhand Assembly Elections. The enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct during the elections led to the deferment of these events.
However, following the successful conclusion of the elections, SGFI revisited the schedule and awarded Jharkhand the hosting rights with updated dates. This decision highlights the state’s strong administrative capability and readiness to host events of national significance.
