Palamu, September 8, 2026: Palamu MP Vishnu Dayal Ram reviewed the progress of various road and infrastructure projects in the district on Tuesday and directed officials to prioritise the repair of potholes caused by the monsoon.
During the review meeting held at the Collectorate, the MP took stock of ongoing and upcoming road projects, construction-related issues and problems affecting work in different areas. He also emphasised the installation of CCTV cameras at important and sensitive locations along national highways.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat, Divisional Forest Officer Satyam Kumar, Additional Collector Kundan Kumar, the Assistant Collector, District Land Acquisition Officer, the NHAI project director, engineers from various departments and officials from the concerned circles.
Redma-Chiyanki road repairs given one-week deadline
The MP reviewed the progress of several major road projects, including the Polpol Bypass, Medininagar Bypass and Chhatarpur Bypass.
He directed officials to undertake pothole repairs on a priority basis, particularly on roads damaged during the rainy season. Officials were specifically instructed to fill the potholes on the Redma-Chiyanki stretch within one week.
Vishnu Dayal Ram stressed that roads used by the general public must remain in proper condition and that construction and repair works should not face unnecessary delays.
Land acquisition issues discussed
The meeting also reviewed land acquisition and displacement issues related to the Padwa realignment project.
Officials informed the meeting that although compensation had been paid to some beneficiaries, they had not yet vacated their houses.
The MP directed representatives of the concerned highway authority to hold discussions with the affected people and resolve the issue through coordination and mutual understanding at the earliest.
Administration assures support for infrastructure projects
Vishnu Dayal Ram said road infrastructure should be treated as a priority because roads are used by everyone, including ordinary citizens and public representatives.
He called for construction of approved and ongoing road projects to be completed within stipulated timelines and urged departments to coordinate closely to remove obstacles affecting implementation.
Deputy Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat said the district administration would provide all possible support to ensure timely completion of road and infrastructure projects.
He directed officials to work together to resolve issues related to land acquisition, encroachment, forest clearances and other administrative matters.
The Deputy Commissioner further instructed officials to ensure that public-interest road construction and repair works do not face unnecessary delays and that pending issues are resolved promptly so projects can be completed within the timeframe.
