Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives of Three Children

Ramgarh, January 08, 2025: A devastating road accident in Ramgarh district’s Gola region has left three children dead and a school van driver severely injured. The collision between a school van and a truck has brought widespread grief and prompted swift action from authorities.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed his condolences, stating, “The tragic news of the demise of three children and the van driver in a road accident is deeply saddening. May Marang Buru grant peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved families to endure this difficult time.” The CM also assured that the injured children are receiving the best possible medical care.

FIR Filed Against Goodwill Mission School

In the aftermath of the accident, an FIR has been registered against Goodwill Mission School for violating government directives. Ramgarh Deputy Commissioner Chandan Kumar stated, “Operating the school despite government orders is a punishable offense. Strict action will be taken against those responsible.” The FIR was lodged based on a statement by Block Education Extension Officer Prabhakar Kumar.

Authorities have clarified that schools were instructed to remain closed and the violation led to this tragic incident. The Education Department has been directed to investigate and take necessary action.

Officials Visit Grieving Families

Senior district officials, including DC Chandan Kumar and SP Ajay Kumar, visited the families of the deceased at Sadar Hospital to offer their condolences. Speaking to the media, DC Chandan Kumar remarked, “This incident is deeply unfortunate. We are ensuring that the families receive all necessary support during this difficult time.”

Immediate relief of ₹10,000 was provided to the families under the Social Welfare scheme. An additional ₹20,000 will be disbursed following procedural formalities. The district administration also confirmed that dependents of the deceased will receive ₹1 lakh as compensation.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as:

  • Sarfaraz Ansari (Van Driver)
  • Neeru Kumari (6 years old)
  • Ashish Kumar Mahto (6 years old)
  • Anmol Kumar (5 years old)

Government Response to the Incident

Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Anurag Kumar Tiwari stated that immediate measures are being taken to support the grieving families. “Compensation has been initiated and additional financial aid will be credited directly to the families’ accounts once all formalities are completed,” he said.

The tragic incident has reignited concerns over road safety and compliance with government directives. Authorities are urging schools to strictly adhere to safety guidelines to prevent such incidents in the future.

This incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for strict enforcement of regulations to protect children. Authorities have assured that those responsible will be held accountable to ensure justice for the victims.
