Ranchi, September 1, 2026: Ranchi University has invited applications for admission to PhD research programmes against vacant seats in various departments and colleges. Eligible candidates can submit their applications from September 1 to September 10, 2026.
For admission based on a postgraduate qualification, general-category candidates must have secured at least 55% marks. Candidates seeking PhD admission on the basis of a four-year undergraduate degree (Honours/Honours with Research) must have at least 75% marks. Candidates from reserved categories will receive a 5% relaxation in marks as per applicable rules.
NET, JRF and GATE candidates can apply
Candidates who have qualified UGC/CSIR-NET, GATE or other equivalent examinations are also eligible to apply. After shortlisting eligible candidates, the university will conduct interviews as part of the selection process.
Candidates falling under different categories, including NET and JRF, will be given preference according to university rules.
Hard copy and scanned documents required
Applicants must submit a hard copy of their application to the concerned department. They are also required to send a scanned copy of the application form along with the necessary certificates to [email protected].
The university has clarified that applications will not be accepted at the Ranchi University headquarters.
