Chaibasa, September 03, 2026: The B.Ed department of Women’s College Chaibasa organised an induction-cum-welcome programme for students newly admitted to the 2026-28 session, introducing them to the course structure, academic activities and the department’s learning environment.
The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Senior faculty member and Head of the Chemistry Department at Women’s College Chaibasa, Vikas Mishra, attended as the chief guest and welcomed the new students.
Addressing the students, Mishra wished them success in their academic journey and said that a B.Ed should be viewed not merely as a degree but as preparation for the responsibilities of becoming a teacher.
Students introduced to B.Ed course and activities
The students were briefed about the B.Ed curriculum, including its aims and objectives. Faculty members also explained the academic and co-curricular programmes and other activities planned by the department.
The newly admitted students introduced themselves individually during the programme, giving them an opportunity to interact with their classmates and become familiar with one another.
The department said the programme was organised to help new students settle into the college’s academic environment and understand its system and activities.

B.Ed department head Mohammad Mobarak Karim Hashmi was present along with Dr Onima Manki, Dr Pushpa Kumari, Dr Rajiv Lochan Namta, Dr Arpit Suman Toppo, Dr Babita Kumari, Preeti Devgam, Sheela Samad, Sitendra Ranjan Singh and Madan Mohan Mishra.
Other teaching and non-teaching staff members of the department also attended the programme.
