Koderma, August 30, 2026: Police in Koderma’s Domchanch area have intensified their crackdown on illegal sand mining and transportation, seizing a tractor allegedly carrying sand without valid transport documents on Sunday.
The action was taken during a routine patrol near Bagdo on the Domchanch-Jaynagar road, where police intercepted the sand-laden tractor for verification.
Tractor Seized During Routine Patrol
According to police, Domchanch Officer-in-Charge Abhimanyu Padihari was patrolling the area with a police team when they stopped a tractor carrying sand.
During the inspection, the driver allegedly failed to produce valid documents required for transporting the sand. Police subsequently seized the tractor and brought it to the Domchanch police station for further proceedings.
Police Probe Source of Sand and Transport Network
Officer-in-Charge Abhimanyu Padihari said police are maintaining continuous surveillance to prevent illegal mining and unauthorised transportation of sand in the area.
Further action has been initiated against the seized tractor under the applicable mining laws. Police are also investigating where the sand was sourced from and who else may be involved in its unauthorised transportation.
Crackdown on Illegal Sand Trade to Continue
The latest seizure comes amid continued enforcement against illegal sand mining and transportation in Koderma district. Police have warned that vehicles involved in unauthorised sand transportation will face action if they fail to comply with applicable regulations.
The administration has also indicated that enforcement against illegal mining and transportation activities will remain a priority.
