Three Cybercriminals Arrested in Giridih
Giridih, December 08, 2024: Giridih Cyber Police made a significant breakthrough on Sunday by arresting three notorious cybercriminals involved in a string of fraudulent activities. The accused were identified as Pankaj Mandal and Kailash Mandal from Pandania village and Deepak Mandal from Ghosko village. Their arrest was announced during a press briefing by Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Vimal Kumar and Cyber DSP Abid Khan.
Sophisticated Scams and Lavish Lifestyle
According to SP Dr. Kumar, the trio had been running sophisticated scams, duping unsuspecting victims by impersonating electricity department officials. They threatened victims with immediate disconnection of their power supply, citing unpaid bills, and convinced them to transfer money to avoid penalties. This modus operandi enabled the criminals to accumulate substantial wealth, including purchasing a brand-new Scorpio SUV.

Acting on a tip-off, the police apprehended the criminals from Dak Bungalow Road in the Gandey police station area while they were allegedly planning their next operation. The raid led to the recovery of three smartphones and multiple SIM cards. Authorities are currently analyzing the devices to gather further evidence.
