Complaint Raised During Public Hearing in Dhanbad, Family Alleges Negligence in Private Hospital

Dhanbad, October 7, 2025: A serious allegation of a baby being swapped in a private hospital during childbirth has surfaced in Dhanbad district. The incident came to light during a public hearing held by Officer-in-Charge of the Public Grievance Cell, Niyaz Ahmed, on Tuesday, where a resident from Baliapur police station area lodged a formal complaint, expressing suspicion that his newborn child was exchanged at the hospital.

Family Suspects Baby Swap During Cesarean Delivery in Dhanbad Hospital

According to the complainant, his wife was admitted to a private hospital in Nichitpur, Katras, on September 24 for delivery. The doctors advised a cesarean section, and after about an hour, both the mother and the newborn were brought out of the operation theatre. The complainant stated that another woman also came out of the operation theatre around the same time, which raised doubts among the family members.

The man further alleged that the hospital staff and attending doctors may have switched the newborns during the delivery procedure. He has urged the authorities to conduct a DNA test to confirm the biological relationship between the parents and the child.

Demand for DNA Test to Confirm the Identity of the Newborn

The complainant submitted his request during the public grievance hearing, demanding a fair investigation and DNA testing to resolve the matter. The Officer-in-Charge, Niyaz Ahmed, assured that the complaint will be thoroughly examined, and appropriate steps will be taken based on medical and legal procedures.

The case has drawn public attention due to growing concerns about negligence and accountability in private hospitals. The demand for a DNA test highlights the family’s quest for truth and transparency in the hospital’s handling of the childbirth.
