Giridih, November 08, 2024: In a tragic turn of events on Thursday, the Chhath Puja celebrations in Jorbad village, under the Pachamba police jurisdiction, were marred by the drowning of two young siblings. The incident occurred when three children ventured into a pit filled with water near their home.

The victims, identified as 12-year-old Priyanka Kumari and 10-year-old Neeraj Yadav, were the children of Subodh Yadav, who had recently set up a cattle farm in the village. The siblings had entered the waterlogged pit to bathe their livestock when they encountered unforeseen danger. While one of the children managed to escape and raise the alarm, Priyanka and Neeraj tragically lost their lives.

Local residents, who were busy preparing for the traditional Chhath Puja rituals, were stunned by the sudden and heart-wrenching news.
