Hazaribagh, September 07, 2026: Hazaribagh-based astrologer Dr Sanjay Singh was among the participants honoured at a two-day conference on astrology and traditional Indian knowledge held at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi.
The Ayurjyotish 2026 conference was organised jointly by the Ayurvedic and Jyotish faculties of BHU and the Kashi Jyotish institution at the university’s K.N. Uduppa Auditorium. More than 250 scholars and distinguished guests from different parts of India, Nepal and other countries reportedly attended the event.
Dr Singh was recognised for his reported contribution to astrology, tantra, healing and spiritual sciences. During the conference, organisers announced that his name had been entered into the London Book of World Records in recognition of his work in these fields.
As part of the recognition, Dr Singh was presented with a certificate and gold medal at a ceremony held at the BHU auditorium. He was also specially honoured for his contribution to astrology and spiritual studies.
Conferred with ‘Jyotish Bharat Bhushanam’
Dr Singh received another distinction during the conference when the Vice-Chancellor of Vishwa Veda Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru, conferred on him the title ‘Jyotish Bharat Bhushanam’.
The recognition made the conference a significant occasion for Dr Singh, with the reported record entry, certificate, gold medal and honorary title being presented during the two-day programme.
Scholars and experts attend conference
The event brought together astrologers, spiritual practitioners, religious figures and experts associated with traditional knowledge systems. Among those mentioned as attending were astrologer and religious teacher Dr H.S. Rawat, Banaras Range Inspector General of Police Vaibhav Krishna, Kashi BJP state president Ashok Chaurasia, BHU officials and faculty members, along with scholars and practitioners from several states.
Participants also came from Nepal and different parts of India, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Odisha, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.
For Hazaribagh, the recognition marks a notable achievement for a local practitioner who received multiple honours at a major conference devoted to astrology and related traditional disciplines.
