East Singhbhum, September 8, 2026: A security guard was allegedly robbed of around ₹1,500 in cash and important documents by two scooter-borne youths near Muskan Residency on Road No. 16 in Jamshedpur’s Azadnagar police station area on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident reportedly took place at around 1:45 pm. The victim was identified as Umakant Mahto, a resident of Munshi Mohalla in Mango.

Suspects allegedly assaulted guard before fleeing

According to the complaint, Umakant Mahto was walking from his home to work when the two youths allegedly stopped him on a relatively deserted stretch of road.

The suspects allegedly used force and assaulted him before pushing him onto sand lying nearby. They then allegedly twisted his hand and took around ₹1,500 from his pocket along with important documents.

After the alleged robbery, the two suspects fled the spot on their scooter.

Police examine CCTV footage

Tiger Mobile personnel reached the location after receiving information about the incident and recorded details from the victim.

Umakant Mahto later submitted a written complaint at the Azadnagar police station.

Police have started an investigation and are examining CCTV footage from the incident site and surrounding areas. Investigators are attempting to identify the alleged suspects based on the available footage.

No arrests have been reported so far.
