Ranchi, December 12, 2024: The Jharkhand government, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, has initiated the process of transferring ₹2,500 to eligible women beneficiaries under the Maiya Samman Scheme. The funds aim to support women’s welfare and empowerment as part of the government’s broader social security agenda.

Largest Allocation for Women, Child Development and Social Security

In the supplementary budget for the 2024-25 financial year presented on Wednesday, the Maiya Samman Scheme received the largest share of ₹6,390.55 crore. This allocation is part of the budget designated for the Department of Women, Child Development and Social Security, which oversees the scheme.

The move reflects the government’s commitment to supporting women beneficiaries through direct financial assistance.

Funds Transfer Timeline: Key Dates Announced

Chief Minister Hemant Soren is scheduled to visit his assembly constituency, Barhait, on December 14. During this visit, the process to credit ₹2,500 into the bank accounts of eligible women beneficiaries will be officially launched.

According to government sources, the fund transfer will commence immediately after necessary approvals, including the publication of the budget in the state gazette. Beneficiaries can expect the funds to reflect in their accounts within the next two days following this announcement.

Supplementary Budget Discussions Underway

The Jharkhand Assembly is set to discuss the supplementary budget on Thursday, December 12. Once the discussions conclude, the Finance Department will expedite the formalities, ensuring a smooth disbursement process.
