Ranchi, December 17, 2024: The Ranchi Railway Division has announced significant changes to the numbers of several passenger trains, effective from January 1, 2025. The changes, which impact major trains such as the Tata Nagar-Barkakana Passenger and Ranchi-Lohardaga MEMU, are aimed at streamlining operations and improving passenger convenience.

The changes, which were officially announced on December 17, 2024, involve the renumbering of several key passenger trains operating within the Ranchi Division. For instance, the Tata Nagar-Barakakana Passenger, previously identified by train number 08151, will now operate under the new number 58023. Similarly, the Ranchi-Lohardaga MEMU Passenger train number will also undergo a change.
The updated train numbers are part of an effort to improve the operational efficiency of the Ranchi Railway Division and enhance the passenger experience. This change will affect commuters who need to plan their journeys according to the new train numbers starting January 1, 2025.

Among the significant changes, the Tata Nagar-Barkakana Passenger and Ranchi-Lohardaga MEMU Passenger services will be most affected.
