Ranchi, September 30, 2025: The weather in Jharkhand has remained pleasant during the ongoing Sharadiya Navratri. On Maha Shashti and Maha Saptami, the state experienced intermittent sunshine and cloudy skies, but no significant rainfall was recorded. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Ranchi, Maha Ashtami (Tuesday) is also expected to remain mostly dry with limited chances of rain.

Weather to Change from October 1 in Jharkhand

Meteorological officials have forecast a shift in weather conditions beginning October 1. A cyclonic circulation is expected to develop over the Bay of Bengal from Tuesday, which may lead to the formation of a low-pressure area. Under its influence, rainfall activities are likely to increase across Jharkhand.

Heavy Rainfall Alert for October 2

On October 2, districts including Dhanbad, Bokaro, Giridih, Jamtara, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Pakur, and Sahibganj may witness heavy rainfall. The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 km/h.

Rainfall Alert Continues for October 3

The rainfall alert extends into October 3 for several districts such as Giridih, Jamtara, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Pakur, and Sahibganj. Residents are advised to stay cautious, especially during thunderstorms and heavy showers.

Drop in Temperature Likely from October 1

With increased rainfall, the maximum temperature across Jharkhand is expected to drop from 34°C to around 29°C, while the minimum temperature may decline by nearly 2°C.

Four-Day Temperature Forecast for Jharkhand

  • Tuesday (September 30): Max 34°C, Min 26°C
  • Wednesday (October 1): Max 32°C, Min 25°C
  • Thursday (October 2): Max 30°C, Min 24°C
  • Friday (October 3): Max 29°C, Min 24°C

The Meteorological Department has urged residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions during thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall. With Navratri celebrations underway, devotees are advised to monitor weather updates and stay safe during the changing conditions.
