Ramgarh, September 7, 2026: Police carried out a crackdown against illegal Mahua liquor production across several police station areas of Ramgarh district on Monday, destroying around 4.50 quintals, or 450 kg, of Java Mahua allegedly prepared for brewing illicit liquor.
The action was conducted jointly by personnel from Mandu police station, West Bokaro Outpost and Bhurkunda Outpost.
450 kg Java Mahua destroyed
According to the police, the Java Mahua was found prepared for use in the production of illegal liquor. The material was destroyed during the joint operation.
The action is part of the police drive against the manufacture and sale of illicit liquor in the district.
Crackdown to continue
The police action has reportedly created concern among those involved in the illegal liquor trade.
Police said the campaign against the manufacture and sale of illegal liquor will continue across the district.
