Ranchi, November 22, 2024: In preparation for the vote counting of the Jharkhand Assembly Elections on November 23, significant changes have been made to traffic routes in Ranchi, particularly around the Pandra Market area. The traffic police have implemented these measures to ensure a smooth process, minimize congestion and enhance public safety.

Restricted Routes and Timings

To streamline movement around the counting venue, specific restrictions have been placed on vehicle entry:

Heavy Vehicles Prohibited:

      • Entry of heavy vehicles will be completely barred in the Pandra Market area from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
      • Heavy vehicles coming from Tilta More and Piska More will be diverted.

Small Goods Vehicles, E-Rickshaws and Buses:

      • From 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, smaller freight vehicles, e-rickshaws, and buses will not be allowed on Tilta Chowk, Piska More, and sections of the Ring Road.

      City Entry Restrictions:

      • All small and large freight vehicles will be prohibited from entering Ranchi between 2:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

        Alternative Routes for Commuters

To reduce inconvenience for residents and commuters:

        • Heavy vehicles traveling from Ratu’s Tilta More to Piska More will be redirected towards Daladili and Kanke.
        • Vehicles moving from New Market to Ratu via Piska More must use the Kathal More route.

        Enhanced Security and Traffic Management

To manage the crowd and ensure smooth operations at the counting venue in the Pandra Market complex:

        • A 100-meter radius around the main gate of the venue will remain blocked.
        • Over 25 police officers have been deployed specifically to regulate traffic in this high-activity area.

Traffic authorities have also announced that temporary closures or diversions might occur during victory processions. Residents are advised to plan their travel routes accordingly and consult updated traffic charts provided by the authorities.

        Guidance for Residents and Commuters

        • Avoid Unnecessary Travel: Authorities urge residents to limit travel in the affected areas unless absolutely necessary.
        • Stay Updated: Keep an eye on official traffic announcements for the latest route changes or potential disruptions.

        Traffic Police Appeal

A senior traffic police officer stated, “We have taken these measures to ensure public safety and maintain order during the counting process. We appeal to everyone to cooperate and follow the updated traffic guidelines.”
