Jamshedpur News: Superstition-Linked Murder in Jamshedpur, Man Slits Friend’s Throat

Jamshedpur, September 30, 2025: A shocking case of murder linked to superstition emerged from Jamshedpur’s Golmuri police station area late Monday night. In the Garabasa locality, a young man allegedly killed his close friend by slitting his throat under the influence of occult beliefs and blind faith in black magic practices.

Victim Identified in Jamshedpur Murder Case

The deceased was identified as Ajay alias Jhantu (22), who worked at a local paint shop. According to police, the accused has been named as Sandeep Kumar, who reportedly held strong belief in occult practices and superstition. Police have taken Sandeep into custody, and questioning is underway.

Alcohol Used Before Fatal Attack

Preliminary investigation revealed that Sandeep invited Ajay to his room on Monday evening. There, he offered him alcohol. Around midnight, when Ajay was heavily intoxicated, the accused allegedly attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon, identified as a chapar (a type of cleaver), and slit his throat.

Locals Apprehended Accused Immediately

Hearing Ajay’s cries for help, local residents rushed to the spot. They found him lying in a pool of blood while Sandeep was still present in the room. Acting swiftly, the locals overpowered the accused and informed police.

Victim Succumbed During Treatment

Ajay was rushed in critical condition to Tata Main Hospital, where doctors tried to save him. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police recovered the murder weapon from the scene and began a detailed investigation into the circumstances of the crime.

Police Investigation in Jamshedpur Occult-Linked Murder

Investigators have confirmed that Ajay was the only son of his parents. His father had died of illness just a few months earlier, making the incident even more tragic for the family. The police are now questioning residents and acquaintances of both the victim and the accused to establish the motive behind the killing.
