Adityapur Police Investigate Death of Software Engineer as Wife Remains Untraceable

Saraikela, October 5, 2025: A shocking incident was reported late Saturday night in Adityapur, Seraikela-Kharsawan district, Jharkhand, when the body of a software engineer was discovered at his residence in Raina Basera Society, Majhi Tola. Local police confirmed that the deceased’s wife has been missing since the incident, and authorities are actively searching for her.

Victim Identified as 48-Year-Old Roundry Stevenson

Police identified the deceased as 48-year-old Roundry Stevenson, who had recently moved into Duplex No. 41, Raina Basera Society. Stevenson worked at a private software company and lived with his wife and eight to ten pet dogs. The presence of the dogs made the recovery of the body challenging, requiring assistance from the Adityapur Municipal Corporation’s dog rescue team.

Police and Rescue Teams Recover Body

While the Adityapur police arrived at the scene late Saturday night, the body could not be retrieved immediately due to aggressive dogs in the house. The dog rescue team intervened, successfully removing the pets after an hour-long operation, allowing police to take the body into custody and send it for post-mortem examination.

Wife Missing for Several Days, Possible Mental Distress Considered

Locals reported that the deceased’s wife had left home three to four days prior and had not returned. Authorities suspect that the victim may have been under mental stress due to her absence. Police are investigating all possibilities, including suicide and other factors, to determine the cause of death.

Police Continue Investigation into Adityapur Death

The Adityapur Police Station in-charge confirmed on Sunday that the body has been sent for post-mortem. Police are also searching for the missing wife and examining whether any familial or personal disputes may have contributed to the incident. Neighbors and society members said that they were not well acquainted with the victim, as he had only recently moved into the society.
